Home to Almondsbury.

After heavy overnight rain our home pitch was in fine condition at the kick off.

The Fry Club girls took the lead at about the midpoint of the first half with a nicely slotted home goal from Amy at close range. Almondsbury levelled the score at 1-1 just before halftime of what could best be described as a scrappy first half.

After the break the Fry Club Girls, got a better hold of the game, when once again Amy put us back in front with a terrific longer range shot. The heavens then opened and the game was stopped by the referee for a few minutes as the rain was so heavy it was difficult to see.  A short time after the restart Amy once again found the back of the net. After a lack of defensive movement from the girls and the poor conditions now faced in the Fry's goal mouth Almondsbury scored to make it 3-2 to Fry's. The Fry girls responded almost immediately with Emily Dean scoring from outside the box with a shot that nearly broke the back of the net!

With Almondsbury now on the ropes and Amy sights zeroed in she added another fine goal to make the final result 5-2 to the Fry club girls, and the first points of the season!

Amy must be mentioned in despatches for her great goals and non stop effort in the second half, but this weeks Player of the match went to Alice Gregory for her great defensive work rate and never say die approach, plus a couple of very important headers.
